When it comes to neurotransmitter detection such as Dopamine, Serotonin, Norepinephrine, Glutamate, GABA, Acetylcholine, etc., in microdialysis samples, tissue homogenates, blood plasma, and others, there are three (3) main methods; LC-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), HPLC-ECD (Electrochemical Detection) & ELISA/Radioimmunoassays.
The first option is LCMS, it provides the highest sensitivity and specificity to the detecting neurotransmitters and also the most expensive option. The price range is between US$200,000 to $600,000.
The second method is HPLC-ECD which is much more cost affordable while offering great sensitivity. The price range is between US$20,000 to $60,000.
The third method is ELISA or Radioimmunoassays which offers less sensitivity. There is also a concern of selectivity due to cross-talk among antibodies.
Therefore, when choosing which method would work best for you, we would recommend HPLC-ECD.
Amuza will present at SfN 2018. Our behavioral system, neurotransmitter collection and detection system, and wireless optogenetics products will be on display at our booth #3127. The behavioral system from O’Hara has a lot of new features you might have never seen. Our booth this time will be 40 feet long which is the largest sized booth we have ever had since the year 2000.
Please stop by to discuss about our new products and get technical support directly from our product experts.
I would like to take this opportunity to offer our gratitude. Thank you for doing business with Eicom. We at Eicom USA have been providing HPLC-ECD and microdialysis systems for about 15 years to researchers in the US who are at the frontier of neuroscience.
Now we are shifting our company name from Eicom USA to Amuza Inc without changing all of our effort to support our customers by current associates without changing company entity*. You may have heard the name, but now we have made it official to use Amuza as our company name while continuing to provide Eicom products. Amuza has also launched its own brand of neuroscience products to complement those of Eicom, including innovative microdialysis fraction collectors and rotating cage stages. You will enjoy those high standard microdialysis equipment.
Please feel free to contact us at any time for your technical questions, price quotes, suggestions or complaints to our business. I love to talk with our customers and learn from your words.
In addition, we always appreciate your word of mouth. If you know someone who might be interested in our products, please let them know about Eicom or Amuza.
Again, thank you for your business with us.
Sincerely,
Shinji Azuma
President
Amuza Inc.
*PS. We believe you do not need to change our company information in your procurement system because our company identity number (EIN) has not changed. It means you can still place order with our account, with either Eicom or Amuza in your system. Thank you.
We are excited to announce that Amuza Inc have been awarded an R41 Technology Transfer grant by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders (NINDS/NIH, USA) to develop “a unified system of wireless optogenetics and brain microdialysis”. The grant proposal was based on research which combined Amuza’s HPLC-ECD, microdialysis, and optogenetics instruments.
The funding is for Phase I (prototype development and validation) of a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) project in collaboration with Drs. Nobuyoshi Suto (The Scripps Research Institute), Thomas Jhou (Medical University of South Carolina) and Matthew Buczynski (Virginia Tech).
After research and commercialization phases have been completed the final opto-dialysis system will be available from Amuza as well. We are currently undertaking the pilot experiments in freely moving animals (both rats and mice) using our opto-dialysis prototypes. We will post the results as they become available. Please stay tuned!
We have exciting news! We have new Sales and Support Associates in San Diego, California and Dublin, Ireland.
Pat Hallahan joined our San Diego Office and Richard Martin joined our Dublin Office. Both have finished our technical training and are ready to support our customers.
These additions increased our average height from 171 cm (5’6) to 175 cm (5’7).
In 1999, I finished the development of the HTEC-500. It is the first unit I ever developed in the company. Literally it was my first baby.
Parenthood comes with great responsibility for both the kids and society. Not only to take care of them financially or academically (education-wise), we have to provide a better philosophy to their heart so they grow up to be caring and respectful and contribute in a better way to people and our society.
There are parents who don’t feel the responsibility or forget, but most of them do not. Companies sometimes or many times don’t either. It is easy for them to sell the company or leave the country, or just give up selling. They stop support for their products or end the product lines without offering alternatives.
At least since 2004, I am still here to support all the HTEC-500 customers in North and South America and Europe with our team as a responsible parent.
TaskForcer’s body-supporting cylinder keeps rodents gently restrained so they are more focused on the task at hand. To see how research animals can be trained faster with the TaskForcer, please fill out this form to watch the video.
The Self Head-Restraining System teaches mice to enter head-restriction voluntarily. To see this guided process that is resulting in higher throughput training in as little as 2 weeks, please request access to the demo video below.
