Operant TaskStudio
Our user-friendly Operant TaskStudio software package can be used for all four of our behavioral neuroscience products:
Operant TaskStudio comes as a bundle of two software programs: The Trial Builder for designing your tasks, and Trial Executor for executing tasks.
Operant TaskStudio is easy to use, requiring no programming experience. Users can design their behavioral neuroscience tasks by simply dragging task Action icons into the working space, separated by Connectors, and assigning them properties.
Trial Builder:
Once an action is chosen, a property box will open so you can set individual properties for each action. For example, if the ITI (intertrial interval) action is chosen, the length of the interval can be set in the properties menu.
Tasks are built using a flowchart format. On the right panel, there are action buttons and connectors.
Choose an action by clicking on it and dragging it into the working space. Connect different actions to each other using connectors. You can easily switch between actions and connectors at the bottom of the right panel.
All tasks must start with a “Begin” button and end with an “End” button.

Operant Task Executor:
With the Task Executor, you can execute trials you just built using the Trial Builder.
1. Parameters: set the parameters of the task, (i.e. duration and end)
2. IO Devices: displays the available input system in each hardware.
3. Trials: reads the Trial created by Trial Builder.
4. Run Statistics: displays the properties of the running Trial
5. Event: Event (Action, Signal, et al.) type of current Trial is described.
The following main window will appear once you open the trial executor:
Each session is automatically saved for reference, with the date and time and animal ID.
